WATOTO AFRICA SOCCER AWARDS - WASA

WASA is arguably East Africa’s biggest football festival as it hosts several tournaments, and gala award ceremonies for children and youth below 18. The festival hosts schools, and community teams from within Kenya and Uganda. It has so far hosted 10 editions since 2012 with more than 50,000 youth have taking part. WASA provides safe spaces for children from diverse backgrounds to explore their talents. Our core values include Diversity, Equality and Fair play.

Objectives

• To increase fun play time for participants.
• To increase the number of children playing football in the region.
• To create a platform where talented players can be scouted.
• To increase networking opportunities among teams leaders and players.
• To create awareness of inter-relations among the sustainable development goals.
• To increase knowledge and experience of sports caretakers in sports management and other key football aspects.
• To provide volunteering opportunities for youth.

Vision

WASA festival’s vision is to become Africa’s largest and most important platform for youth to enjoy of sports and friendship. Over 100 volunteers and partners are helping us realize this vision.
